Efficient abrasive recycling is the key to profitability in continuous blasting operations. The BLAST APEX Cyclone Separator is a critical mechanical pre-filtration unit designed to automatically separate reusable abrasive media from dust and fine waste.

By utilizing high-velocity centrifugal forces, the cyclone ensures that only "good" grit is returned to the blast pot, while lighter dust is carried forward to the secondary dust collector. This not only saves on material costs but also drastically extends the life of downstream cartridge filters.

Centrifugal Separation Principle

The dusty, media-laden air enters the cyclone tangentially at high speed. This creates a powerful vortex where centrifugal force throws the heavier, reusable abrasive particles against the outer walls. These particles lose velocity and spiral down into the storage hopper. The lighter dust remains in the central air stream and is exhausted through the top outlet to the secondary filtration stage, ensuring a clean and consistent abrasive mix for the blaster.
